I.  200 hour yoga teacher training! Join James River Yoga + The Yoga Viva for our Yoga Alliance certified 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Lynchburg, VA.

Beginning on March 4th, 2019, this 200 Hour Program is comprised of 10 weekends (alternating Saturday and Sunday from 10-5) and weekly Monday night classes for a complete yoga training experience. Our focus will be on self-care, personal practice, alignment, yoga lifestyle, and confidently creating comprehensive + transformative experiences for ourselves and others through the mindful use of yogic techniques. If you are ready to take your wellness into your own hands and believe that when you heal yourself, you help the world, then this training is for you.  TEACHER TRAINING IS FULL!


II.  Saturday February 16 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. with Marisa: Valentines Yoga for Couples (or friends) followed by wine and chocolate. $30 per couple.  Keep the LOVE going this Valentine’s day with Partner Yoga on Feb 16th!

 Get in touch with a partner or reconnect with a good friend through yoga! Come practice poses as a duo, share relaxation time and celebrate Valentine’s Day! Through guided practice, you will help each other stretch into poses and assist each other through hands-on adjustments and props. Snacks and beverages served afterward! Bring a loved one, friend, blind date… No experience (or flexibility) required!

III.  Conscious Relaxation with Leesa: Saturday March 2 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Treat yourself to a deeply nourishing and relaxing 2-hour experience of Yin and Restorative Yoga, Pranayama, Meditation and Yoga Nidra. Together these practices help counter chronic stress, fatigue, insomnia, anxiety and other pressures of daily living. By letting go of all muscular contraction and mental striving we induce the relaxation response and consciously engage in our own healing process. IV.  MEDITATION WORKSHOP/MINI-RETREAT  Saturday, February 23 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at James River Yoga Studio, 311 Rivermont Ave, Lynchburg, VA  JRY is offering a workshop in which you will learn the basics of meditation – from why we would want to meditate to how to do it. The session will be led by experienced meditators and will address questions such as: How long do we meditate? What do we focus on? What are some techniques to help us overcome distractions? The workshop will include some guided meditations, provide plenty of time for questions and will be appropriate for those new to meditation as well more experienced practitioners. If you would like to attend but don’t have time for the full 2-hour session, please feel free to leave early. THE FIRST HOUR OF THIS WORKSHOP WILL BE MORE INSTRUCTION AND SHORTER SITTING PERIODS – DESIGNED FOR THOSE WHO ARE NEWER TO MEDITATION; THE SECOND HOUR WILL BE LONGER SITS AND LESS INSTRUCTION.
