MEDITATION WORKSHOP/MINI-RETREAT Saturday, April 27 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at James River Yoga Studio, 311 Rivermont Ave, Lynchburg, VA JRY is offering a workshop in which you will learn the basics of meditation – from why we would want to meditate to how to do it. The session will be led by experienced meditators and will address questions such as: How long do we meditate? What do we focus on? What are some techniques to help us overcome distractions? The workshop will include some guided meditations, provide plenty of time for questions and will be appropriate for those new to meditation as well more experienced practitioners. If you would like to attend but don’t have time for the full 2-hour session, please feel free to leave early. THE FIRST HOUR OF THIS WORKSHOP WILL BE MORE INSTRUCTION AND SHORTER SITTING PERIODS – DESIGNED FOR THOSE WHO ARE NEWER TO MEDITATION; THE SECOND HOUR WILL BE LONGER SITS AND LESS INSTRUCTION. – Join Anne and Ellen for a workshop that will provide students with the tools necessary to navigate our bodies through life! We will discuss and/or practice: physical movement (yoga, tai chi, other forms of exercise); Stress Management (meditation, breath and restorative poses); External manipulation (massage, acupuncture); and Biochemical (sleep, diet, medicine). The workshop will conclude with restorative yoga and guided relaxation.
